Welcome back, Orchestra Families!

We hope you had an enjoyable and restful summer break. We are excited and ready to jump into the new school year! Violin and Viola Students will need to bring their instruments on the first Monday of school. Cello and Bass students will receive their in class instrument assignments on the 2nd day of school.

Here is some very important information to know: 

• ORCHESTRA FEE:  There is a required $35 orchestra fee. This fee is for the entire year and covers your child's Orchestra Polo, Orchestra T-shirt, binder, book, zipper pouch, and some activities! The Polo Shirts will be used as concert attire for performances. The deadline for payment is Friday, August 29th. If you are in financial need, please just let me know and we can work out a payment plan. The Polo and T-shirt will be distributed at a later date. We will be able to order shirts once we have collected the orchestra fee from all of the students. 
   

• PRACTICING:  Practicing is the students' homework for Orchestra class; outside work is essential to their success. The practice expectation is at least 30 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week. We will do routine practice checks to ensure the students are practicing.
   

• CONCERTS:  There are 3-4 evening concerts every year. These performances are an important part of being in the class, and attendance is mandatory. Concert dates will be sent out in an email and hard copies will be distributed once all the dates are approved. If there are any conflicts with the concert dates, let us know as soon as you are aware of the conflict. We want your students to be able to participate in all the activities they are involved in, so we are determined to find a solution to any conflict if possible!

  • Shoulder Rest for Violin and Viola only

  • Rock Stop for Cello and Bass only

  • Tuner (for home and school use)

  • String Basics Book

  • Cleaning Cloth or Rag

  • 2 Sharpened Pencils 

  • Folding Music Stand  (for home use)​
